Great Canadian Fire Sale!

As Prime Minister, Mark Carney is steering Canada toward a risky and ideologically driven transformation that threatens our economic sovereignty and long-term prosperity.

I find it deeply concerning that he has launched the Canada Strong Fund—a so-called sovereign wealth fund—without genuine surpluses to back it, relying instead on fresh federal contributions amid already crushing national debt levels. At the same time, Carney is openly discussing the sale or privatization of strategic assets like our ports and airports, potentially handing control to large institutional investors, including those with ties to his former firm, Brookfield Asset Management. His personal financial connections to Brookfield and American investments raise serious questions about whose interests are truly being served by this legislation. Rather than safeguarding Canadian resources for Canadians, these moves appear designed to position Canada as a resource supplier to Europe and global financial interests while we remain vulnerable at home.

Even more alarming is Carney’s deliberate pivot away from our century-old partnership with the United States in favor of closer alignment with China and the European Union. By deepening strategic ties with Beijing on energy and trade, and positioning Canada as an honorary EU partner, he is actively de-risking from our largest trading partner and continental neighbor at a time when pragmatism and North American strength should be paramount. This is not prudent diversification; it risks higher costs, supply chain fragility, and diminished leverage for Canadians precisely when we need stable markets and secure borders. In my view, these policies prioritize a outdated globalist vision over the practical interests of Canadian families, workers, and future generations. Canada deserves leadership that builds on our strengths and friendships, not one that mortgages our future to distant capitals and connected insiders.
